LAHORE: Italian ambassador Stefano Pontecorvo says Pakistan is marching towards prosperity.

“Both countries have friendly relations in trade, culture and different fields. Bilateral trade between Pakistan and Italy has increased to $3 billion,” the Italian ambassador said while talking to reporters at the inauguration ceremony of mega leather show organised by the Tanners Association and Pakistan Footwear Manufacturer Association at Expo Centre here on Monday.

On the occasion, Tanners Association Chairman Sheikh Afzal Hussain, Footwear Manufacturer Association Chairman Mohammad Younis and leather show convener Mansor Ehsan Sheikh were also present.

Mr Pontecorvo said this mega show was presenting best picture of Pakistan’s products. “There is a huge potential in the country and we are going for value added investment with Pakistan.”

He said Lahore’s cultural heritage and tourism was worldwide famous and he liked Lahore’s cuisine.
