KARACHI: The 4th Sindh Sports Board Wheelchair Tennis coaching camp concluded here at the Union Club on Sunday. Twenty players attended the two-month camp which was organised by Para Sports Pakistan in collaboration with Sindh Tennis Association and was supported by SSB.

After the coaching sessions, ten players have been selected for advance training. During the coaching camp, the participants also contested in four competitions namely World Disabled Persons Day at Rangers Special Persons School, the 7th Indus Pharma National Tennis Championship, the Annual Sports Day event at Nixor College and the 60th SSB Development Series Tennis championship held at the Union Club.

Sanjeep Lama, the visiting fencing coach from Nepal, was the chief guest at the closing ceremony and distributed certificates among the camp participants.

Speaking at the occasion Sanjeep highlighted the initiative of ‘Friendship through Sports’ between Nepal and Pakistan, He said that wheelchair athletes have higher position among the sports fraternity of the world as they do more hard work than normal mainstream athletes, and face a lot of hardship to continue their practice.

Khalid Rehmani, Vice President PTF and President Para Sports Pakistan, thanked SSB for its support as well as Union Club for providing their venue for this long duration camp.

Dr. Nadia Razak, Secretary Para Sports Pakistan, Ahmed Ali Rajput, Secretary SOA, Farhan Ashrafi, Vice President SITE Association of Industry, Muhammad Taqi (fencing) Mand Aqeel Shabbir (wheelchair tennis coach) also spoke at the occasion.
