QUETTA: Balochistan Awami Party secretary general and Senator Manzoor Khan Kakar has said that the BAP-led provincial government will complete its five-year term as the party is united under the leadership of party president Jam Kamal Khan Alyani.

“The provincial cabinet and the speaker of the Balochistan Assembly have been honestly performing their responsibilities.” Manzoor Kakar told a party meeting.

Difference of opinion in a political party is a healthy sign, which shows that intra-party democracy is taking root at the grass-roots level of the party. He, however, said that he would play his role to end differences among senior leaders of the Balochistan Awami Party.

Mr Kakar said that Mr Alyani had proved himself a successful chief minister of the province as under his leadership, Balochistan was fast marching on the path of development and prosperity.

“Balochistan has unveiled its first mineral policy under the rule of Mr Alyani, farmers are being provided tractors, C&W department has been working hard and sports complexes are being constructed in all districts,” Mr Kakar said.

Referring to the federal government support for Balochistan, Senator Kakar said that the federal government had been using all its resources for development of Balochistan while mega development schemes had also been included in federal Public Sector Development Programme for the people of Balochistan.

“During recent snowfall and downpour in the province, the chief minister, along with staff of Provincial Disaster Management Authority and other departments, was himself present on the ground monitoring relief and rescue operation in areas hit by the snowfall and rains,” he said.
