PESHAWAR: The Pakistan Flour Mills Association (PFMA), Khyber Pakhtunkhwa chapter, on Wednesday urged the federal government to resume flour supply from Punjab and decrease pressure on mills situated in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa.

The call was made at a meeting of the association here.

The participants said that KP was facing a slight pressure due to allocated wheat quota and existing market situation.

However, they noted that despite constraints, all the flour mills of the province were regularly supplying the commodity to the markets in greater interests of consumers.

Speaking on the occasion, PFMA group leader Mohammad Naeem Butt said: “There is ample quantity of flour in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa despite limited supply of the essential commodity from Punjab”.

He also urged the food department and the secretary food to deal with the elements involved in selling flour at exorbitant prices.
