KHUZDAR: Three persons, including a professor of the Balochistan University, were killed and three others injured in two accidents in Lasbela and Khuzdar.

Police said that Professor Dur Mohammad Pirkani was going from Quetta to Karachi in his car. When it reached the Uthal area of Lasbela district on the Quetta-Karachi National Highway, the car overturned at a sharp turn due to over-speeding.

As a result, Professor Pirkani died on the spot while his daughter Nimra Pirkani and two other persons were injured.

Police shifted the body and the injured victims to the district hospital.

Mr Pirkani was also a TV and radio artiste and had performed in many TV dramas, including the popular Brohi language play Zarkhona Na Gin.

In another incident, two motorcycle riders were killed when their bike hit a tractor-trolley at the main Quetta-Karachi highway near Shahsawar Chowk of Khuzdar.

Levies officials said that the tractor-trolley was parked when the motorcycle hit it. The incident took place due to over-speeding.

The bodies were taken to the district hospital where deceased were identified as Baqir Khan, resident of Ghaj-Kalochi, and Mohammad Ismail, resident of Noghy, Khuzdar.
