GUJRAT: The Pakistan Tehreek-i-Insaf (PTI) has launched the Punjab chief minister’s complaint cell at the district level with appointment of some party loyalists as chairmen in their respective districts.

The appointment of these chairmen in a few districts is still pending for which consultation among the party rank and file is under way.

The first meeting of the district chairmen of the complaint cells from across the province has been convened by the Punjab cell chairman in Lahore on Jan 20 (today) where the participants are likely to be briefed on how to operate these cells.

These chairmen will be allotted offices in government buildings and tasked with proper and efficient redressal of grievances of the common people as per the vision of the chief minister.

PTI men head CM’s complaint cells in districts

Sources in the PTI told Dawn that the prime minister’s cousin, Zubair Niazi, has been appointed as the chairman of the Punjab complaint cell to engage the party cadre in the government’s efforts to improve service delivery and governance.

They added that the PM wanted to see CM Usman Buzdar as a successful administrator for which he had initially got his own cousin appointed to the post.

The district chairmen will compile a monthly report based on data of the complaints received and addressed and submitted to the Punjab chairman of the cell.

Usman Manzoor Dhudra, the scion of former MNA Manzoor Hussain Dhudra and a PTI worker, has been appointed the chairman of the complaint cell in Gujrat.

Similarly, former PTI ticket-holder, Khalid Aziz Lone, has been appointed as the cell’s chairman in Gujranwala and Hassan Inam Piracha in Sargodha district.
