RAWALPINDI: Several flights were cancelled or delayed due to inclement weather across the country causing problems for hundreds of passengers on Sunday. Heavy rains in Dubai also affected PIA’s flight schedule on the second consecutive day on Sunday.

According to a PIA spokesman, Pakistan International Airlines flights PK-326 (Lahore-Quetta-Islamabad), PK-322 and PK-323 (Islamabad-Quetta-Lahore) and PK-325 for Quetta were cancelled due to bad weather. PK-363 (Quetta-Karachi) and PK-323 (Islamabad-Quetta) and PK-311 (Karachi-Quetta-Karachi) were cancelled.

Heavy snowfall in Gilgit and no clear policy guideline led PIA to cancel flights PK-606 and PK-605.

Likewise, PIA flights PK-451 and PK-452 for Skardu were cancelled due to snowfall as the airline could not take the risk of flying in extreme weather conditions.

PIA said it apologised to passengers for the flight disruption and asked them to check with the airline before travelling. Other airlines also faced delays or flight cancellation.

On Saturday, the PIA flight operation was disturbed due to heavy rains and accumulation of water in Dubai.
