Sindh: natural gas

Published January 12, 2020

SINDH is the largest gas producing province which contributes more than 70 per cent to total natural gas in the country. It is considered the energy basket of Pakistan. However, it consumes no more than 45pc of the gas it produces.

Sindh is the richest province in natural resources, yet it faces severe natural gas and CNG shortages. This has affected industrial workers, transporters and consumers.

The federal government has not yet considered this matter seriously.

The people of Sindh, industrialists, transporters and domestic consumers demand of federal petroleum ministry to work with the provincial ministry on a plan for providing gas and CNG in Sindh in an adequate quantity so the industries, transport and domestic consumers get their regular supply.
