QUETTA: A first investigation report (FIR) was registered on Wednesday by the Counter Terrorism Department on the complaint of SHO City Police Station against those involved in the motorcycle bomb blast that occurred in Quetta on Tuesday.
Two people were killed and 14 others injured in the incident.
Earlier, police officials said the remote-controlled bomb was detonated when a Frontier Corps vehicle was patrolling the busy Mecongi road shopping area. “The target of miscreants was the official vehicle of the security forces,” Balochistan Home Minister Ziaullah Langove had told the media.
Hizbul Ahrar, an offshoot of the banned Tehreek-i-Taliban Pakistan, claimed responsibility for the attack, according to The Associated Press.
