ISLAMABAD Aug 17: A meeting of the Senate Standing Committee on Sports is to be held on Aug 22 in Islamabad to discuss hockey and cricket matters. Chairman of the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB), Shaharyar M. Khan and officials of the national hockey federation - president Tariq Kirmani and secretary Musarratullah Khan - are likely to attend the meeting.

The senators want PCB to explain why Karachi was not allotted an England Test for the tour that begins in October.

The hockey officials on the other hand will be required to explain matters that had been left pending in the last meeting held on July 27.

Monday’s meeting has been convened on a requisition made by Senators Murad Ali Shah, Muhammad Enver Baig and Kausar Firdous.
