SUKKUR, Aug 17: Former Sindh Chief Minister Sardar Ali Mohammad Mahar has said he will go to the Supreme Court against the verdict of the Sindh High Court declaring void the creation of new union councils in the Ghotki district.

He demanded that the Sindh government should ask the Election Commission to postpone the elections till the decision of the Supreme Court.

He claimed that the Sindh government had increased the number of union councils in the district on demand of people of the area and the decision was not politically motivated.

However, People’s Party Parliamentarians MPA and a candidate for the seat of district nazim, Jam Saifullah Dharejo, termed the SHC verdict a victory of people and said there was no justification to postpone the elections in this situation.
