QUETTA Aug 17: Balochis-tan National Party-Mengal secretary general Habib Jalib Baloch has accused Chief Minister Jam Muhammad Yousuf of violating the code of conduct of the local bodies elections.

Addressing a press conference in the Quetta Press Club on Wednesday, he said the CM had announced different schemes on Wednesday despite the fact that the poll campaign had come to an end on Tuesday midnight.

He alleged that the chief election commissioner was partial because he was not taking action against the CM and Senator Nasir Mengal for taking part in the campaign of PML candidates.

Mr Jalib claimed that Jam Yousuf on Wednesday visited Sarona area in Wadh of Khuzdar district in an army helicopter where he announced allocation of funds for different development schemes to influence the voters.

He said that the CEC, on one hand, was issuing directives to chief ministers and federal ministers not to interfere with the polls and on the other he was not taking steps against violators.

The BNP-M leader also accused the chief minister of using resources of WAPDA, communication and works department and health department in support of government’s candidates and said it was clear violation of the code of the conduct determined by the election commission.
