KARACHI, Aug 17: The local government department has established an Election Complaint Cell in the department, at Tughlaq House, to facilitate the administrative machinery in the districts where elections are being held on Thursday.

This was stated by Adviser to the CM on Local Government Waseem Akhtar while addressing a press conference here on Wednesday.

He said the Cell would remain in direct contact with the Election Commission, police, Rangers, Information department and other concerned departments and officials.

It would take notice of the complaints related to water supply, electricity, telephone, vehicles, petrol supply, etc.

The adviser said the Cell, having 12 fixed telephone lines and six fax lines at its disposal, had been set up to ensure normal conditions in the city and province.

Mr Akhtar told newsmen that candidates were observing the code of conduct prescribed by the Election Commission.
