Israeli Prime Minister Ariel Sharon appealed on Wednesday to Gaza settlers and their supporters resisting evacuation not to attack troops sent to remove them and to blame him alone for the pullout. “I want to appeal to everyone not to attack the police and ... soldiers and not to blame them or make things difficult for them,” Mr Sharon said in a televised address.—Reuters
