GUJRANWALA: The Federal Investigation Agency (FIA) arrested on Sunday six human smugglers from different areas of the region.

FIA Deputy Director Roy Nasrullah told Dawn those arrested, namely Nadeem, Liaquat, Ashraf, Tanveer, Amjad and Kashif, were proclaimed offenders and they had received millions of rupees from many people and sent them to Greece, Turkey and Iran.

He said the ratio of human smuggling in Gujranwala was more than other cities of the country and there were complaints about more than 4,000 human smugglers in the region.

Their list has been prepared and targets had been given to the FIA teams to arrest the human smugglers, added Mr Nasrullah.
