LAHORE, Jan 15: Asif Love was likely to make amends for previous outing’s failure and win the feature event of the mid-week Lahore Gymkhana races to be held at the Racecourse Wednesday.
The Chunian Plate, a class VII division III & IV featuring the six-event card has 14 runners, barring last-minute withdrawals.
In the last outing on Jan 5, the six-year-old gelding Asif Love was beaten by half-a-length by dark bay gelding Senna over six furlongs. Asif Love is appearing almost in the same company plus a few new entries in the race over an identical distance. This will be the second race of the day.
The supporting event, the Chunian Plate, class VII division V & VI combined handicap race has a big field of 16 contenders. Of them, four — Golden Wings, Ghabra, Dhandana and Rehmat Ka Phool — are on chance.
Meanwhile, the Lahore Race club (LRC) has advised all trainers to complete morning track work of their horses by 9.30am on each race day.
