MUET claim title

HYDERABAD, Aug 13: Mehran University of Engineering and Technology (MUET) won the PCB-Hush Puppies Inter-university cricket tournament Hyderabad Region, beating Quaid-i-Awam University of Engineering, Science and Technology (QUEST) by seven wickets at Niaz Stadium on Saturday.

Playing first QUEST scored 159-9 in 40 overs with Raheel Soomro scoring 36. Zeeshan Amir and Ghulam Murtaza scored 31 runs each. Asif Ali Bhatti picked three wickets for 20 and Mohammad Shariq and Abdul Qudoos two each for 25 and 32.

MUET achieved the target in 26.3 overs for a loss of three wickets. Abdul Qudoos scored 68 runs, Imdad Ali 35 and Asif Ali Bhatti 26. Imtiaz Leghari and Mohammad Aslam grabbed one each for 28 and 29.

Hyderabad District Government is organising an exhibition cricket match at Niaz Stadium during the sports festival, which is part of its Independence Day celebrations.

Badminton would be held at MCB badminton hall and table tennis contests would be organised at Barkat Bhai Hall.
