KHUZDAR: Balochistan Home Minister Mir Ziaullah Langove has said that police and Levies are being equipped with modern weapons, communication system and latest technology to ensure peace in the province.

Presiding over a meeting on law and order in Kalat on Monday, the minister said that law and order was restored in Balochistan with joint efforts of police, Levies and federal force and steps were being taken to further improve the situation.

The Kalat commissioner, the deputy commissioners of Kalat and Khuzdar, DIG Khuzdar Region and other officers concerned attended the meeting.

Briefing the meeting about the law and order situation in the Kalat division, Commissioner Mohammad Tahir said that more check-posts of police and Levies had been established to ensure safety of the people travelling on Quetta-Karachi National Highway.

“Patrolling by Levies and police has been increased on the highway linking Quetta with Karachi for safe journey of the people,” he said.

The commissioner said that doctors and other related staff had strictly been ordered to remain present in hospitals and other health facilities located on the highway to deal with any emergency in view of increasing road accidents.

The minister said that addressing the issues of district Kalat and other areas of the division was top priority of the government. Security of the masses and their property was the responsibility of the provincial government, he added.

He said development works were under way in accordance to improve life standard of the masses.

Mr Langove said work for provision of water, gas, electricity, installation of new transformers, renovation of schools and development projects was under way in different parts of the city.

He said recruitments in several provincial government departments had been made to address the issue of unemployment.

Kalat deputy commissioner Shahak Baloch, SSP Dostain Dashti, XEN B&R Ahmed Nawaz Jamali, XEN Irrigation Sawlim Mohammad, SDO B&R Langove Mohammad Ameen and other relevant officers were also present on the occasion.
