LAHORE: Pakistan Tehreek-i-Insaf (PTI) senior leader Jahangir Tareen has said that time seems ripe to “minus” Maryam Nawaz after Nawaz and Shahbaz Sharif got “excluded” from their party.

He also said that there was no need for Maryam to go to London to attend to her father when her brothers and sisters-in-law were there.

Speaking to the media here on Sunday, Mr Tareen said PTI and Prime Minister Imran Khan were synonymous with each other and minus-one in the party was impossible. He said there would be no political change in the country and the PML-N was only daydreaming that there could be any other prime minister than Mr Khan.

The PTI leader said that all those accused in different cases wanted to go abroad using their illnesses as a ploy, adding that former president Asif Ali Zardari could also go abroad on the same pretext. About JUI-F chief Maulana Fazlur Rehman, he said he was unpredictable as he came unexpectedly and went back abruptly.

Mr Tareen said the prime minister would not retreat from holding the corrupt accountable. He said the PPP and PML-N ruined the country’s economy and the PTI was controlling the damage and putting the economy back on track.

“We will see when the decision in Pervez Musharraf treason case is announced,” he added.
