FAISALABAD: Four people, two brothers among them, were killed and 10 others suffered injuries in two accidents on Sunday.

Two persons died and 10 suffered injuries when two vehicles collided near Dengrue Bridge on Faisalabad-Chiniot Road. A team of Rescue 1122 reached the spot and provided first-aid to the patients.

Mahnoor, 16, daughter of Zafar Ali of Chiniot, and another man died on the spot. Mahmood Ahmad, 37, Bilal, 20, Naveed, 25, Huda, 22, Falak Sana, 50, Sajjad, 52, Robina, 25, Munawar, 30, Shafiya, 22, and Nooran Bibi, 55, were injured.

Traffic remained disrupted on the road which carries heavy load. The residents of Faisalabad and Chiniot have been demanding that the government make it a dual carriageway to avoid frequent accidents.

The other accident took place near Samundri Bypass where brothers Jahanzeb and Shahzeb were run over and killed by a bus when they were going somewhere by their motorcycle. The deceased belonged to Chak 139-GB, Samundri.

The family of the deceased staged a protest demonstration throwing traffic out of gear for more than two hours and demanded action against the company.
