Dua Mangi returns home a week after being kidnapped in Karachi's DHA

A week after she was kidnapped in Karachi, 20-year-old law student Dua Mangi returned home on Saturday, a statement issued by South Zone DIG Sharjeel Kharal's office confirmed.
The statement added that the investigation in the case is ongoing and police will soon provide further information.
Lawyer and activist Jibran Nasir welcomed Mangi's return, noting that her kidnappers were still at large.
"Two kidnappings [in] DHA in 6 months both times kidnappers weren't caught. The hunt for them must continue otherwise God forbid one of our family members could be the next victims," he tweeted.
Late on November 30, Mangi was kidnapped by armed men from Bukhari Commercial in Karachi's DHA while her friend Haris Fatah Soomro was shot at and wounded.
On Thursday, DIG Kharal had said: "It appears to be a case of kidnapping for ransom." He had said that it had been ascertained through investigation that the student was kidnapped for ransom, without elaborating. The DIG South was leading different teams of police probing the incident.
Police had said on Tuesday that they suspected a criminal gang was behind Mangi's abduction.
Members of the civil society had also staged a protest at the city's Teen Talwar roundabout. Mangi's sister had told media that the family was not satisfied with the police's performance as "despite the passage of three days, the police have failed to recover her".

Sindh and Punjab police forces are entirely corrupt from top to bottom and in 90% cases mixed up with the criminals and crimes. I would strongly urge the provincial governments and the federal government to immediately dismiss all the police in these two provinces, including all officers even the useless IGs. Lease out the policing duties in both provinces to the Pakistan army directly, under their own officers. You will note a major and clear difference within months. Why not give it a try?

Dua Mangi's kidnapping case and after one week and her dramatical re-appreance has raised many questions.
People who were following up her case through print or electronic media are stunt that how come Dua Mangi was provided a safe passage to return home without firing a single bullet, without arrest of any one of the kidnappers and without paying any ransom?
On the other hand, Dua Mangi's friend Harris Fatah Soomro was shot at and lying wounded in a hospital and police did not confirmed as yet whether the injured had recorded or signed any statement as a witness of Dua Mangi's kidnapping.
This seems to be an open and shut mind boggling, a peculiar case, in which people are clue less as what was going on inside the whole episod in which CPLC was also got involved at a later stage.
Reports are taking rounds that Dua Mangi is released after paying heavy amount of ransom to kidnappers.
I urge IG Sindh to lift the curtain from Dua Mangi's kidnapping case through a press conference.
