Waseem wins 110m gold at South Asian Games

KATHMANDU: Pak­istan’s Muhammad Waseem put up a stunning performance in athletics competitions of the ongoing 13th South Asian Games (SAG) in Nepal to claim the gold medal in 110m hurdles race here on Thursday.

According to information made available here by Athletics Federation of Pakistan (AFP), female athlete Sahib-e-Asra also displayed an impressive performance to win a bronze medal in 400m race.

Minister for Inter Provincial Coordination, Dr Fehmida Mirza and President AFP Gen (r) Muhammad Akram Sahi have congratulated the medal winners.

In taekwondo, Haroon Khan and Rab Nawaz both earned gold medals while Jibran Masood won a silver medal. Saima Shahzad also bagged a bronze medal in weightlifting.

In wushu, Muhammad Amjad Iqbal took a gold medal while Fatima, Abdul Khaliq, Sadaam and Dawood Shahid grabbed a bronze medal each.
