LAHORE, Aug 11: The PPP on Thursday announced that in Lahore district it had made electoral adjustments with the PML-N in 45 union councils and with the MMA in nine UCs.

Speaking at a press conference at a local hotel, Lahore president Haji Azizur Rahman Chan, secretary-general Samiullah Khan and deputy information secretary Tahir Khaleeq said the party had fielded its own candidates in 96 union councils.

They said there was no room for making more adjustments to have a one-on-one contest with the ruling party’s nominees in all 150 union councils of the city.

Hoping that the step would help in giving a tough time to the government, they expected win for opposition’s candidates in at least 100 councils.
