ISLAMABAD, Jan 15: Federal Information Secretary Anwar Mehmood has called upon the professionals in electronic media to continue their efforts with dedication so as to meet the challenges of modern era.

Speaking at the concluding session of the station directors conference of Pakistan Broadcasting Corporation (PBC) here on Tuesday, the secretary appreciated the creative skills of the media personnel.

The conference thoroughly reviewed the programmes for the next quarter. Director General of PBC, Salim Gul shaikh also lauded the performance of all the radio stations and eulogised the services of professionals.

The new programmes, the DG hoped, would attract listeners, as they have been prepared keeping in view the interest of the public. He said the current affairs channel of Radio Pakistan had added a new chapter in the PBC history.

The programmes which were discussed and approved for the next quarter included special programmes in connection with Kashmir solidarity day on February 5 and special programmes in connection with the year of Allama Iqbal and Independence Day on August 14.

Special programmes on Quaid memorial lectures and Allama Iqbal memorial lectures will be broadcast in March and November respectively.
