LAHORE: Mayo Hospital Chief Executive Officer (CEO) Prof Dr Asad Aslam Khan has been conferred with fellowship by the Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons of Glasgow (RCPSG) in recognition of his lifetime achievements of invaluable services in the field of ophthalmology.

Earlier, Prof Khan was awarded Honorary FACPS by the American College of Physicians and Surgeons in 1999 and FCPS by the College of Physician and Surgeon, Bangladesh in 2011.

The RCPSG considered him for the global distinction following his 34-year experience in the field of ophthalmology with 28 years in teaching cadre and 15 years in the administrative capacities of principal of College of Ophthalmology and Allied Vision Sciences, King Edward Medical University, Lahore, professor of ophthalmology and dean of surgery & allied.

Besides, 59 research papers to his name helped him for the fellowship. Besides, the Sitara-i-Imtiaz was conferred upon him by president of Pakistan in 2005.
