ISLAMABAD: Almost a month after his retirement as Commander Southern Command, Lt Gen Asim Saleem Bajwa is likely to become the head of the newly-formed China-Pakistan Economic Corridor Authority (CPECA).

Talking to Dawn on Friday, Mr Bajwa, who has also served as director general of Inter-Services Public Relations, said that a summary had been sent to the federal cabinet for his appointment as director general of CPECA. The cabinet, scheduled to meet on Nov 26 (Tuesday) with Prime Minister Imran Khan in chair, is expected to approve the appointment.
