GUJRAT, Aug 10: Two men were killed and another injured when two rival groups traded fire outside the sessions court in Jhelum, some 80km from here, on Wednesday.

Asif and Waqas groups of Dina had come to the court to attend the hearing in a murder case. At the court gate, members of both groups opened fire on each other.

Siddiq of the Asif group and Amnan of the rival group died instantly, while Nasir Raza Shah sustained critical injuries. The injured was taken to the DHQ Hospital.

The police claimed that there had been an old enmity between the two groups for the last eight years which had so far claimed six lives.

Civil Lines police have registered a case and are investigating. They claimed to have arrested Waqas, Asif and Tanvir.
