KARACHI: Ashar Mir and Ahmed Nael Qureshi will vie for top honours in the boys singles final of main draw here on Saturday at 4.30pm in the Rotary Club Karachi ATF U-14 Super Series Tennis Championship at Creek Club tennis courts.

In the first semifinal on Friday, top seed Ashar Mir registered straight set win against Ibrahim Noman Yousaf by 6-0,6-1. Ahmed Nael Qureshi from Islamabad caused a major upset when he eliminated second seed Zain Ehtisham of Karachi in a one-sided affair at the score of 6-0, 6-1. Ahmed will face Ashar in the final on Saturday.

Kashan Tariq took the sixth position after losing the match to Nadir Mirza. Yahya Luni of Islamabad got the seventh place after winning against Rayan Ahmed of Karachi.

Meanwhile, talented Zainab Ali beat Varsha Das in the final to lift the girls singles title. She gained a valuable 200 ATF ranking points while Varsha Das got 133 ranking points.

Girls’ singles final: Zainab Ali Naqvi bt Varsha Das 6-1, 6-4. Sindh ranking:

Juniors U-17 singles semi-finals: Yahya Ehtisham bt Haris Tariq 6-2, 6-2.

U-11 singles quarter-final: Samer Zaman bt Ibrahim Sajjad 4-1, 4-1.
