PRIME Minister Imran Khan showed a big heart by recently opening the Kartarpur corridor, which was highly appreciated not only by the Sikh community, but also by the world.

This step shows Imran Khan is a good leader, for he demonstrated it is always good to live with love and peace. It was a pleasure to hear Narendra Modi thanking our prime minister for this gesture by allowing the Sikh community to travel comfortably to their holy place.

I would urge the Indian prime minister to reciprocate by allowing the faithful from Pakistan to visit the shrine of Khawaja Moinuddin Chishtie in Ajmer by making the visa process easy and giving visa at the entry point. Also, Modi can relax visa formalities for Pakistani senior citizens over 60 years who want to visit their near and dear ones in India.

Hopefully the Indian prime minister will immediately take steps to show to the people of Pakistan his willingness to reciprocate Imran’s gesture.

SEVERAL speeches were delivered by prominent personalities at the Kartarpur corridor opening ceremony – a longtime wish of the Sikh community ultimately fulfilled by Prime Minister Imran Khan.

Imran Khan in his speech emphasised on two things – love for mankind and poverty alleviation. He believes this will help Pakistan and India to have better relations and a just settlement of the Kashmir dispute.

Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi, who also hailed Imran Khan’s initiative in opening the Kartarpur corridor, must listen to our prime minister’s speech with a cool head and think about what messages God’s messengers, sufis and saints conveyed to this world, and Imran Khan talked about it too.

We are thankful to veteran leader and former Indian prime minister Manmohan Singh, besides Navjot Singh Sidhu, Sunny Deol and all pilgrims who came to Pakistan and showed their love and respect towards Pakistanis, especially our prime minister.
