SUKKUR: A man was shot dead and another one wounded when unknown assailants opened fire on them in the Garhi Khero area of Jacobabad district on Sunday evening.

Onlookers said that Abdul Ghaffar Umrani and Agha Dad Umrani were sitting in a roadside tea shop when some armed men came and shot them. The assailants then escaped in the cover of darkness, they added.

Garhi Khero police said that Abdul Ghaffar died on the spot and Agha Dad was taken to a nearby government hospital in a critical condition.

They believed that the attack was linked with a property dispute between the victims and their rivals, who belonged to the same community.
