QUETTA: Three members of the Frontier Corps were martyred and four others seriously injured when a bomb planted in a motorcycle exploded near their vehicle which was passing through the Kuchlak Bypass area here on Friday.

A spokesman for the paramilitary force said the vehicle carrying the FC personnel was targeted by terrorists.

“Three FC soldiers were martyred on the spot and four suffered serious injuries in the powerful blast,” a senior officer of the Kuchlak police station said.

Officials said the FC personnel were on their way to the Ghazaband Scouts Headquarters and was targeted in the Kuchlak Bypass area linking Quetta with Kuchlak.

No group claims responsibility for attack

“Terrorists parked an explosives-laden motorcycle at the roadside and detonated it with a remote control when the FC vehicle was passing through the area,” police officials said, adding that eight kilograms of explosives was used in the blast.

FC personnel and police rushed to the area and took the bodies and injured to Civil Hospital. The injured were later taken to the Combined Military Hospital.

No one claimed responsibility for the blast.
