RAWALPINDI: The accused arrested on charges of sexually assaulting children was produced before the court of civil judge on Wednesday following which he was remanded to police for five days.

During preliminary investigation the accused had confessed to sexually assaulting 30 children. He had been deported from Italy and United Kingdom after being imprisoned on similar charges.

Besides, a laptop and other articles were recovered from him and sent to the forensic science laboratory for analysis.

Police priority was to register FIR of each child molested by the accused, however, they will become the complainant for children whose relatives refuse to become complainants in the FIR.

City Police Officer Mohammad Faisal Rana has constituted a team headed by SSP Operation Tariq Walait which would adopt procedures for further legal action and registration of cases against the accused. Another team, set up under the supervision of SSP Investigation Mohammad Faisal, will monitor the investigation of the cases registered.
