QUETTA: Winter has descended upon several areas of Balochistan and the Met Office has forecast snowfall in the mountains and rainfall in several cities, including the provincial capital.

According to the weather forecast, cloudy weather is expected in many parts of Balochistan while snowfall with drizzle is predicted at isolated places in Quetta and northwestern Balochistan.

A new series of rainfall systems developed in various parts of Balochistan, including Quetta Valley, Kalat, Mastung, Chaman, Pishin, Qilla Saifullah, and are likely to continue for the next three to four days.

As the weather turned chilly in the provincial capital, shortage of gas was reported on Sariab Road, Killi Barat, Allama Chowk, Nawa Killi, Pashtunabad and Musa Colony. Business activities were affected on Monday as prolonged loadshedding continued in the cold weather.
