HARIPUR: PPP district president Dr Faiza Rasheed on Monday alleged that the PTI government was bent on killing opposition leaders Asif Ali Zardari and Nawaz Sharif in custody.

Dr Faiza told a news conference here that the removal of air conditioner from the detention cell of former president Asif Zardari and negligence in the treatment of both Mr Zardari and PML-N leader and former premier Nawaz Sharif in custody had proved that the government wanted to eliminate the two.

She said investigators had failed to prove a single case of corruption against the two opposition leaders.

“They (PTI government) want to kill Asif Zardari and Nawaz Sharif by giving them slow poison,” she alleged. The PPP leader said the PTI’s rule had turned out to be the worst dictatorship in the country’s political history.

She said the government was using the National Accountability Bureau to victimise political opponents but the accountability watchdog didn’t act against PTI leaders Jehangir Tareen, Aleem Khan, Firdaus Ashiq Awan, Aleema Khan and even Imran Khan over money laundering charges.

Dr Faiza said the ruling PTI had destroyed the Pakistan Medical and Dental Council, health and educational institutions and economy and was handling affairs through presidential ordinances.
