MARDAN: A young man was killed in a firing incident at a private school in Sheikh Maltoon Town, police said here on Wednesday.

The watchman of the school told police that he was performing duty in the night between Tuesday and Wednesday when two persons including the victim scaled the boundary wall of the school.

He said that he fired shots in the air to scare them away but the victim, later identified as Usama, was hit by a bullet in retaliatory firing by his accomplice. He said that the victim died instantly while his accomplice managed to escape after resorting to firing.

After registration of FIR, the officials of Sheikh Maltoon Town police station started investigation to ascertain real motives behind the murder.

In North Waziristan tribal district, two brothers were killed by their cousin over a family dispute in Naraikot village on Wednesday.

According to police and local residents Aleem Ramail opened indiscriminate firing on his cousins Shakirullah and Kausaru-llah over some family dispute and killed them both.

Soon after the incident, Miramshah police arrested the suspect along with the weapon. FIR was registered against him.
