NWFP claim three golds

PESHAWAR, Aug 7: NWFP swimmers created a new record by winning three gold medals on the second day of the ongoing National Junior Age Group Swimming championship at Adil Khan Swimming Pool on Sunday. The coaches including Asad Khan, Mobeen Khan, Nouman Khan and Jabbar Rahim celebrated after the event.

“My dream has come true,” a thrilled Muhammad Asif, Secretary of NWFP Swimming Association told the media.

Secretary Pakistan Swimming Federation (PSF) Major Majid Waseem also lauded the hard work of the NWFP swimmers. He said that more than 10 players would be called for the ongoing National Swimming Camp at Islamabad to further train them under a foreign coach.

200m freestyle (U-16): 1 Murail (Punjab) 2:36:84, 2. Muhammad Asim (NWFP), 3. Ezam (Islamabad).

100m backstroke (U-12): 1. Fasial Ahmed (Punjab), 2. Qasim Ali (Punjab), 3. Rohail Tariq (Sindh)

200m backstroke (U-18): 1. Sikandar Khan (Wapda), 2. Usman Javed (Wapda), 3. Abdul Aziz (Punjab).

100m breaststroke (U-16): 1.Suleman Sadat (Sindh), 2. Zain Tariq (Punjab) 3. Rohail (Punjab).

100m butterfly (U-14):1.Sannaullah (Punjab) 2. Adnan Haider (NWFP), 3. Walid (NWFP)

50m freestyle (U-12): 1. Qasim Ali (Punjab), 2. Aniq Anwar (Sindh) 3. Fasial (Punjab).

4x100 medley relay (U-18): Wapda, Punjab, and Sindh

200m freestyle (U-18): 1. Shahbaz (Wapda), 2.Sikandar (Wapda) 3. Imran Hashim (NWFP)

400m freestyle (U-16): 1. M. Asim (NWFP), 2. Mursil (Punjab), 3. Rameez Azam (Sindh)

200m individual medley (U-14): 1. Adnan Hashim (NWFP), 2. Hamza (Punjab), 3. Anwar (Sindh)
