KARACHI Jan 15: Sanitary workers of the KWSB, in Liaquatabad Town, have gone on strike in protest against checking of attendance by the Union Councils Nazims,

According to details, the sanitary workers demand that their attendance be taken by the officials of the Town and UC NAzim should not cross check it.

They have been on strike for the last four days and to control the situation the Al-Khadim group held a meeting chaired by the UC Nazim and member City Council, Siddique Rathore .

The meeting was attended by Nazim UC-4, Taseen Mian, Nazim UC-6,Tazeem Ahmed Siddique and a number of councillors.

Among the worst areas to suffer on account of the strike are blocks 1,2,5,6,8,9 of Liaquabad, Sikandarabad and Azam Nagar, where garbage as well as other solid waste has stockpiled in the last four days and the gutters are overflowing.—PPI
