Published August 7, 2005

LAHORE, Aug 6: The Lahore Race Club (LRC) has drawn up an elaborate programme to celebrate the Independence Day in a manner befitting the occasion on Aug 14.

It has chalked out a day-long thoroughbred racing action featuring at least six cup events.

In addition to the Independence Day Cup, there will be another five prized cups: PTCL Wireless Cup, Gerry’s Fedex Cup, Dancom Cup, Abamco Cup and the Baharia Cup.

The distance of cup races will be 1200 and 1400 metres.

This is for the first time in the history of the LRC that six cup events have been organised for the Independence Day celebrations.
