CHAKWAL: Punjab Law Minister Mohammad Basharat Raja announced an annual grant for all bars.

Addressing a ceremony at Chakwal Bar Association on Saturday, he said promotion of bars was the priority of Punjab government.

“From tehsil bar to high court bar, all bars of the province would get the annual grant in the current financial year.” He also announced Rs2m for the Chakwal Bar Association.

Mr Basharat said his government was doing its best to introduce legal reforms in the province.

He announced issuance of health insurance cards for lawyers and urged the legal community to preserve their dignity.

“Unfortunately, in the last a few years our legal community has suffered decay,” he said.

Minister for Higher Education and Information Technology Raja Yasir Humayun Sarfraz said with the establishment of University of North Punjab in Chakwal, students of five districts would be benefited.
