China grants Tesla car manufacturing certificate, says industry ministry

China's industry ministry on Thursday said it has added Tesla Inc to a government list of approved automotive manufacturers, granting the manufacturing certificate that the electric vehicle maker needs to start production in the country.

The list was published by China's Ministry of Industry and Information Technology.

as tesla is the most recognised brand but also at the forefront of electric car technology, China is looking to the future where it's scientists and engineers will be working within this company and thereby having a head start in mass producing electric vehicles, so reducing its reliance on imported oil. savvy move
