Security beefed up in Waziristan

MIRAMSHAH, Aug 5: Security has been beefed up in the volatile North Waziristan Agency to pre-empt any sabotage activities and attacks on security forces. Witnesses said that massive movement of the Frontier Corps was underway in the area and paramilitary troops were being deployed along the road from Mirali to Miramshah.

Sources said that paramilitary forces had been deployed from Datakhel area to Lawara Mandai near the Afghan border and checkposts had been set up.

Paramilitary troops were also patrolling strategic roads to avert sabotage activities.

The sources said that troops’ movement had been increased following attacks on security forces, while regular troops were also heading towards the Pakistan, Afghanistan border.
