KHUZDAR/QUETTA: A young Lady warden was brutally killed allegedly by three foreign national women prisoners in Gadani Jail on Tuesday.

Gadani Jail Superintendent Shakeel Baloch said 23-year-old Zoya Yahya, who had joined the Prison Department only in 2017, was posted at the women inmates’ cell where she was strangled to death “by three Russian prisoners” while she was sleeping.

Police have registered a murder case against the Russian women inmates.

Zoya’s body was taken to a local hospital and later handed over to heirs. According to doctors who had examined the body, she was badly beaten up as many marks of injuries were found on her body.

Commenting on the killing, Balochistan Home Minister Mir Ziaullah Langove said the “incident reflects poor standards of security in the prison and also indicates incompetence on the part of the prison officials”.
