LUCKNOW: A meeting of Urdu writers and poets was held here yesterday [Oct 8] and a resolution was passed strongly protesting against the uncal­led for and malicious propaganda initiated by the patrons of Sanskrit against the language used by the All-India Radio in its broadcasts. It was pointed out that the language used, in fact, was preponderantly Hindu and at times even most commonly used Persian and Arabic words are deliberately avoided. The meeting further deplo­red the participation in this campaign of prominent Congressmen like Mr. Pershotam Das Tan­don and Mr. Sampurnanand and requested Mr. Gandhi to instruct them not to take part in controversies likely to create communal bitterness.
