CHARSADDA: Jamiat Ulema-i-Islam-Fazl has formally invited Awami National Party to participate in the Azadi March to be organised in Islamabad on Oct 27.

Head of the Opposition’s Rahber Committee and former chief minister Akram Khan Durrani called on ANP president Asfandyar Wali Khan at Wali Bagh here on Friday and discussed the prevailing political situation in the country.

Insiders said that Mr Durrani conveyed message of the party chief Maulana Fazlur Rehman and invited him to participate in the march. Asfandyar told the JUI-F leader that he would convene a party meeting soon to make final decision regarding participation in the march.

The ANP leader said people’s mandate was stolen in the general elections that created political uncertainty in the country. He said fresh election was the only way out of the present crisis.
