LANDI KOTAL: Five persons including a student and three minors were killed in separate incidents in Khyber tribal district on Monday.

Sources said that local police recovered a bullet-riddled body in Ghundi area of Jamrud. The body was shifted to civil hospital for autopsy and identification.

The deceased was identified as Azar Khan, who was believed to be killed by his rivals over old enmity. Police registered a case and started search for the killers.

In another incident, the body of a sixth grader was found at a deserted place near Ali Masjid. The boy was identified as Adnan, a resident of Shalobar in Bara. The body carried mark of bullet.

Reason behind his killing could not be known immediately.

Meanwhile, three minor children lost their lives when they drowned in water tank in Sipah area of Bara on Monday.

Local police officials said that bodies of the children identified as Ansarullah, Naseerullah and Zuhra were later retrieved from the water tank and handed over to their parents.

Deputy Commissioner Mehmud Aslam Wazir gave away Rs300,000 as compensation to each of the affected family.
