DERA GHAZI KHAN, Aug 2: Senior vice-president of PPP and former federal minister Mir Baz Khan Khetran demanded the chief election commissioner of Pakistan to take notice of the alleged use of government resources by Balochistan Minister Begum Nasreen and her husband in the local polls in Barkhan district.

At a press conference held here on Tuesday, Mr Khetran also accused Blochistan Chief Minister Jam Yosuf of extending, what he termed, blind support to the minister.

He warned the Election Commission that situation in Barkhan might become volatile as the husband of the minister, Abdul Rehman Khetran, was allegedly using about 200 proclaimed offenders in the electioneering to get support for a group of candidates, besides violating the ban on display of weapons.

He demanded that the district be declared ‘sensitive’ otherwise there were chances of bloodshed during the elections.

He alleged that Awam Dost aspirants were being threatened by the POs backed by the minister’s husband, while the district administration was helpless.
