LONDON, Aug 2: The script for the Hollywood film, ‘American Dreamz’, is not being altered after the London blasts although it involves Pakistani suicide bombers out to kill the US president, the film’s mastermind said on Tuesday. The black comedy’s writer, director and producer Paul Weitz denied the script was being rethought after the July 7 attacks that left 56 dead.

The film stars Hugh Grant, Dennis Quaid, Willem Dafoe, Chris Klein and Mandy Moore and features a squad of Pakistani terrorists. A report suggested the film’s producers were jittery over the London blasts and the botched July 21 repeat attack.

“The plot of my film has not changed, nor is a change being contemplated,” Mr Weitz said in a statement.

“The film is a comic examination of our cultural obsessions and how they can anesthetize us to the actual issues of our day.”—AFP
