KARACHI, Aug 2: Eight ships, carrying steel, steel scrap and a car carrier with 500 units, are expected to arrive at the outer anchorage on Wednesday, according to KPT sources. The berthing activity at the wharves was slow where two ships, Mariam-5 and Precious to unload and load general cargo, were berthed after the departure of three.

The ships, which departed included Zarjan, Bunga Kenari, Ulysses-2, while Yang Jiang He, Adhidaya, Maritime Skill and Ever Gather are due to sail out on Wednesday. The cargo handling activity at the wharves was light where a total tonnage of 33,465 tons comprising 1,778 tons of export cargo and 31,687 tons of import tonnage was handled.

The following ships are due on Wednesday: Harmony, Kota Teraju, Hyundai Stride, YM Moon, Vera Cruz, with containers, Fu Yuan Kou, with 500 vehicles, Ever, with 29,000 tons of steel cargo, and Iran Sadr, with 35,570 tons of steel scrap.
