KARACHI: Another incident of break-in was reported in the house of former senator and senior Pakistan Peoples Party leader Taj Haider in Defence Housing Authority, police said on Wednesday.

Mr Haider experienced a second such crime in a short span of one month in which robbers had looted his personal documents, cash, jewellery and LCD in two attempts of thefts at his house.

The Gizri police said that Mr Haider, who was in Thar, returned home on Tuesday and found his apartment’s door lock broken. His belongings were spread in rooms and documents and other valuables were missing, the police said.

Area SHO Rizwan Haider said that thieves had taken away passports of Mr Haider and his wife. They also took away some cash and jewellery.

The police said that in the previous theft incident, thieves had taken away his LCD and some personal documents.

“Police have got some clues about the motive of the thieves and we are working on them,” said South SSP Sheeraz Nazeer.

He said there was no CCTV coverage available.
