Army, Wapda in semifinal

LAHORE, July 31: Army take on Wapda in the first semifinal of the National Challenge Cup soccer at Army Sports Complex, Rawalpindi, on Monday. The second semifinal will be played at the same venue between PTCL and Khan Research Laboratories (KRL) on Tuesday. The final is scheduled for Aug 5, while third position match will be played on Aug 4.

In all, 12 teams took part in the contest. The league matches concluded in Rawalpindi and Faisalabad on July 29.

KRL remained the champions of the Group-I with 15 points followed by Wapda (12 points), KESC (nine points), Navy (six points), Police (three points) and pointless Panthers Club.

In Group-II, Army emerged as leaders with 15 points. PTCL secured 12 points, NBP (seven points), KPT (seven points), Sindh Government Press (three points) and HEC (zero point).
